Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Maintain the record of all invoices presented by aircrews for special UN flights and prepare invoices for further verification and processing payment.
• Establish and maintain a proper filing system.
• Maintain a calendar of section’s meeting and ensure the timely invitation of the parties attending the meeting as well as preparing the minutes of meeting.
• Assist in recording liquidated/un-liquidated obligations.
• Keep record of all documents concerning aircraft utilization as well as the monthly expenditures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: High School Diploma. Basic knowledge of office work and administration as well as record keeping and data management.
• Working Experiences: At least 4 years of working experience in administration field and office support functions.
• Languages: Must be able to communicate clearly in oral and written English as well as Arabic.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Receive and screen all correspondence and other documents addressed to the Section Chief.
• Draft/respond to correspondence and e-mails; Review/Edit outgoing correspondence to ensure accuracy and completeness of information and institute follow up action. Make photocopies as necessary.
• Maintain a calendar of appointments of the Section Chief including official visits within and outside the mission area.
• Act as back up leave monitor and maintain attendance records for the office. To this end, monitor movement of the section’s personnel in and outside the mission area by ensuring that Movement of Personnel Forms (MOPS) are completed and signed prior to departure.
• Prepare and monitor the office personnel leave plans to ensure continuous smooth work flow while other staff members are on leave, especially during holidays periods;
• Consolidate monthly requests for office supplies for the section;
• Establish and maintain a proper filing system.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Background: Post-secondary education at college, university or specialized training institution. Nature and level of specialized training should include office management/business administration and technical and communications skills. Knowledge of shorthand an asset
• Relevant working experience: At least six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in administration/office management fields of which 2 years are with UN and a high level of demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with UN/NGO or other International bodies an added asset.
• Language: Fluency in both written and oral English as well as Arabic. Knowledge of regional dialects an asset.
• Other Skills: Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given. Demonstrated effective organizational skills and ability to handle work in an efficient and timely manner;

Competencies:

• Professionalism: Ability to manage processes, maintain accurate records, in administrative fields.

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Confirm radio serviceability half an hour prior to first flight.
• Continuous listening watch on aviation HF radio frequency
• Record accurate timinings for all takeoff and landings
• Be fully conversant in aviation emergency procedures
• Initiate emergency response to any “May Day ‘ calls
• Maintain accurate log book and ensue that entries are accounted for at the end of shift.
• Ensure flight following room, aeronautical charts are maintained with accurate information.
• Provide aircrew and air operations shift duty officers with early morning wake up call as required.
• Ensure crew transport is dispatched at appropriate times
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: High School Diploma, supplemented by technical/vocational training in an aviation field.
• Relevant working experiences: Minimum of four years experience in military or commercial Air Operations/Air Movement; General knowledge of international procedures and regulations for aviation operations desirable; Qualified radio operator VHF-FM, VHF-AM, and HF with experience in Air Communication procedures; ATC experience desirable, but not essential.
• Languages: Must be able to communicate clearly in oral and written English as well as Arabic.

Competencies:

• Professionalism: Demonstrated knowledge in the technical field of aviation; Ability to work independently; shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges. Remains calm in stressful situations
• Planning and Organizing: Effective organizational skills and ability to handle a large volume of work in an efficient and timely manner.
• Commitment to continuous learning: Initiative and willingness to learn new skills.

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Develop and publish the daily flight schedule according to the requirements/requests;
• Monitor the daily movement of aircraft to ensure that all missions are executed safely, according to published schedule and that all necessary clearances are in place;
• Assist in tracking and monitoring the current flight status of UN aircraft, their ATD and ATA;
• Brief and issue individual Air Tasking Orders at out-briefing of aircraft captains tasked on a daily flight schedule.
• Assist aircrews in filing flight plans and obtaining weather information relevant to their destination/arrival airports and en route;
• Liaise with Movcon and Air Ops personnel in other locations regarding relevant flight information;
• Assist the Air Operations Supervisor with Air Communications procedures and flight planning;
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: High School Diploma. Preferably, academic qualifications or training in Air Transportations, Safety Management, Air Traffic Control or graduation from equivalent military establishment or military / air traffic control training.
• Working Experiences: At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of Air Operations. General knowledge of international procedures and regulations for aviation operations. Qualified radio operator VHF and HF with experience in Air communication procedures.
• Necessary skills: Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given. Fully conversant with computer operation including Word, Excel PowerPoint and Access. Demonstrated effective organizational skills and ability to handle work in an efficient and timely manner;
• Languages: Must be able to communicate clearly in oral and written English as well as Arabic.

Competencies:

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Control and regulate movement of vehicles and other equipment related to under slung loads;
• Liaise with and grant permission to Movement Control/Handling Agent personnel, vehicles and other machinery required for loading/off-loading under slung loads;
• Briefing drivers and other machinery operators properly on speed limits and hand signals around access roads, gates and the ramp when operating near under slung loads;
• Liaising with Air Traffic Control/Ground Control for the purpose of obtaining permission on movement and other activities related to under slung loads;
• Ensure good crew communications and visual signals for all under slung operations;
• Carry out a technical assessment of loads to be carried, adopting suitable safety and risk assessment measures to minimize dangers to others and the load.
• Understand and follow established safe work procedures taught by UNAMID ADT
• Notify the supervisor of any jobsite hazards, improper work procedures, incidents, or accidents
• Notify the ADT Supervisor of any changes to the planned work location
• Wear, and maintain in good condition, the required personal protective clothing and equipment
• Expediting flight dispatch by acting as catalyst to other concerned personnel in the performance of their duties on the ramp;
• Reporting all safety violations and observed hazards to Ramp Control Officer;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Drive the patients safely to the destinations as directed by the medical officer in a timely fashion.
• Assist the medical Officer for transporting the medical equipments and instruments.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist Medical Officers in providing transportation to the patient to and from medical clinic.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Background: Completion of Secondary Education. Valid driving license for cars, trucks and buses as required. Safe driving record.
• Relevant working experience: Two years professional experience in driving Ambulance with UN or local hospitals.
• Language: Fluency in both written and oral English as well as Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

• Initiate regular visits to stores to ensure conformity with regulations for storage of food and non-food items;

• Maintain cost data on various means of transport in the Area Office’s operational areas;

• Deliver WFP standard forms/ documents to those involved in the transport of WFP operations, ensure that the proper paperwork has been prepared;

• Assist with the accounting, reporting on food and non-food items and ensure that internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained;

• Assist in contingency planning and logistics preparedness reviews;

Language:

Desirable Skills:

• Repairs, program and carry out preventive maintenance on all equipment within the unit.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of high School Education; supplemental course/technical certificate in radio communication, electronic telecommunications, computer technology or other related field.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Review the contract and prepare bullets points for quick reference to contract terms and conditions.
• Prepare the contract files/ documents in an orderly manner to ensure that all contract documents are filed and updated.

• Submit requests for exemptions on Value Added Tax (VAT), and maintain a spreadsheet of all submissions/ approvals.
• Track all contractor assets on spreadsheets to facilitate assets management for reporting to the local government all duties/ taxes owed by the contractors, in the event of contract expiration or early termination.
• When called upon, vet all invoices submitted by various Self Accounting Units before transfer to Finance Section for payment processing.
• Keep updated the invoice payment database with graphical presentation of commodities/services consumption levels/patterns.
• Generate relative status reports for audit trail.
• When called upon, reply to correspondence on routine matters.
• Reconcile records and accounts, whenever called upon.
• Prepare note Verbal as and when required.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of secondary education plus relevant certification/diploma or other supplemental academic qualifications or training in the field of business administration or contract management. A degree an asset
• Relevant working experience: At least 6 years experience in the field of procurement/contract management and/or Logistics management at the national or international level. Experience with United Nations or NGO an asset.

• Install and maintain electrical installations, equipment and apparatus within the Mission by applying standard of electrical engineering practices, related to works for overhead and underground electrical installations and maintenance.
• Carry out electrical installation and maintenance works on buildings, offices, accommodations, ablutions, shelters, open areas etc.
• Install and maintain office, residential, security and street lightings.
• Carry out periodic and emergency maintenance services on submersible and centrifugal pump stations, motors, air conditioners, vehicle lifts, car washers, water filtration and purification plants, alternators and generator control panels.
• Analyse and correct distortions on electricity loads.
• Carry out electrical surveys and preparation of technical reports, drawings and material quantities.
• Decide on simple electrical installations and seek approval from the Supervisor for more complex installations.
• Safe keep and efficient use tools and specialized equipment/vehicle under his/her care.
• Notify and identify equipment hazardous to persons or property in accordance with local building codes and standing regulations.
• Travel to various locations, in the Area of Operations to carry out electrical installations, maintenances and repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of high school education. Diploma (4 year) in Electrical Installations from a recognized Electrical Technical School. Completed apprenticeship training; obtain license to practice on domestic, commercial and industrial installations in accordance with IEE codes/equivalent national codes.
• Relevant working experiences: A minimum of 5 years experience in electrical commercial and industrial installations. Familiarity with the latest editions of the IEE wiring regulations or equivalent national regulations. Familiarity with generator wirings, troubleshooting and control wiring. A valid driving license for light motor vehicles.
• Necessary skills: Good knowledge in handling electrical tools and equipments (manual and electric) is required. Good technical skills and on top of the latest technology and the appropriate IEC safety regulations related to the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical distribution systems, building codes, and including proficiency in fault finding using applicable test instruments. Familiar with, and able to use regular workshop equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and cope with deadlines. Possess national Driver’s License for light and medium vehicles. Ability to operate Fork-Lift is desirable.
• Languages: Basic knowledge of spoken and written English, and Fluency in Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of direct supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (UNAMID) and the Pharmacist of the UNAMID Level II hospital, El Fasher, the Electro-Medical Technician shall carry out the following tasks:

● In collaboration with the Pharmacist In Charge UNAMID Level II Hospital

● Ensure the installation and efficient performance of newly acquired hospital
equipment in the UNAMID Level II Hospital and other UNAMID affiliated hospitals.
● Ensure the routine maintenance and repairing of dental, laboratory,
radiological and other hospital equipment/machines in order to ensure their efficient performance in the UNAMID Level II Hospital and other UNAMID affiliated hospitals.
● Assist the pharmacist UNAMID level II Hospital in the requisition of spare or replacement parts for faulty hospital equipments/machines and other matters related to hospital/electro – medical engineering.
● Carry out relevant and regular reporting as required for proper management of all hospital equipment of UNAMID Level II Hospital.


● Assist in the organisation of continuous training on hospital
equipment/machines and other related matters to related medical personnel of the UNAMID Level II Hospital and other UNAMID affiliated hospitals.
● Carry out other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Chief Medical
Officer UNAMID and the Director UNAMID Level II Hospital.
● You shall not communicate to anyone whatsoever or use to your advantage
any information, documents, facts and communication which shall come to your knowledge in the course of this appointment, except with the permission of the Chief Medical Officer UNAMID.


Qualifications and Experience:

● Education: Registered Professional who is a graduate with an accredited Degree or Diploma Programme (4 years) or Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate in hospital engineering or electro- medical engineering from an accredited tertiary institution.
● Training & Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in electro-medical engineering and logistics management. Knowledge and understanding of relevant UN administrative policies and procedures is desirable. Previous experiences from UN missions or any UN agency are an asset.
● Languages: Excellent command of oral of and written English and Arabic,
Sudanese regional dialects an advantage

Competencies:

● Professionalism: Knowledge and experience in hospital
equipment/machines.

Engineering Assistant Grade:
GL-4 Duty Stations:
Darfur (Multiple Duty Stations)

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Scrutinize engineering cost estimates, procurement planning and monitor spending (Allotment, Pre-encumbered, Obligation and Balance).
• Develop Engineering Business Plan in accordance with the mission business plans.
• Prepare and present annual budget and seek approval; and analyze, review and present business performance indicators against the budget.
• Initiate corrective actions as required in order to predefine short and long term goals for the Engineering Section.
• Initiate corrective action to present a true picture of business performance, according to Results Based Budgeting (RBB) and enable decision making based on performance reports.
• Analyze and review existing engineering practices and policies
• Initiate and facilitate cost-reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives in line with business goals to improve engineering services (reliability, enhance responsibilities and delivery capabilities).
• Provide structural/technical appraisal of works in collaboration with the design and planning team.
• Interpret architectural and structural design data/plans and execute works involved according to specifications provided.
• Take quantities and work estimates assigned, ensuring the procurement of the necessary materials, plant and equipment from Engineering/Supply Stores.
• Plan, supervise and implement construction of site.
• Provide on-the-job training for staff including contractors under supervision.
• Record and collate all aspects of data on material, plant and manpower utilization during execution of projects.
• Prepare and record the Completion Reports for submission and appraisal by supervisor and/or relevant authority.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of high school education. A combination of technical certification/diploma or other academic qualification in engineering, logistics or a related field.
• Relevant working experiences: A minimum of 5 years experience in engineering, management or related fields. Experience with United Nations peacekeeping operations, national civilian/military or logistics/engineering units would be an asset.
• Necessary skills: Basic engineering skills that indicate capability to progress to more difficult projects; demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given. Ability to develop and operate common database software, in particular spreadsheets.
• Languages: Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, and Fluency in Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

• Record and reconcile more complex accounting transactions
• Examine and record UNAMID Financial transactions into the Sun and Progen and prepare remittances for disbursement

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Background: Completion of High School education, Diploma in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent. coursework and/or formal training in accounting or finance would be an asset.
• Relevant working experience: Minimum 6 years progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance of budgeting, or equivalent preferably with UN or Public Accounting Firms.
• Language: Fluency in both written and oral English as well as Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Background: First level University Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field. A relevant combination of academic qualifications and extensive experience in finance and budget will be considered.
• Relevant working experience: minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience working with complex accounting operations. Experience in operation of IMIS or SunSystem highly desirable. Proficiency with various software applications programmes including Microsoft Access, Excel and Word highly desirable

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Oversee fuel operations, review fuel stock holdings and project product requirements ensuring that each assigned location maintains adequate reserve and operational stocks at all times.
• Assist in the provision of petroleum, oils and lubricants (POL) to the mission including the administration of outsourced contracts for POL and related services;
• Assist with implementing the Mission Fuel Plan and the Unit’s work program;
• Monitor fuel usage by vehicles, aircraft, generators, locations and contingents and investigate any major anomalies or inconsistent fuel consumption;
• Oversee issuance and ensure proper accounting of POL products at assigned locations;
• Assist with validating requests and authorizing issuances;
• Ensure daily testing of ground and aviation fuels in accordance with international standards;
• Coordinate issues pertaining to quality control, safety and maintenance of fuel installations, vehicles and fuel equipment in assigned locations;
• Assist in ensuring that fuel operations are conducted according to recognized international environmental and safety standards in a professional and competent manner;
• Assist in raising requisitions, monitoring expenditures and processing invoices and receipt of POL at field installations;
• Assist in carrying out preventative maintenance and repair of mission fuel equipment;
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification/diploma or other supplemental academic qualifications or training is highly desirable.
• Relevant working experience: At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in one or more of the following areas: (1) the operation of field fuel installations and fuel handling procedures; (2) fuel contract administration; (3) maintenance/repair of fuel equipment.
• Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic with excellent communication and drafting skills.

Competencies:

• Professionalism : Experience in management of fuel operations including storage, transportation and distribution of fuel;
• Commitment to Continuous Learning: Willingness to keep abreast of new developments in the field.

• Install and maintain small and large generator sets and related equipment within the mission in compliance with the engineering standards and practices.
• Carry out scheduled and routine operations, maintenance, emergency repairs and overhaul of generators (static/mobile), including the installation of auxiliary fuel systems, such as tanks, transfer pumps and pit works.
• Safe keep and efficient use of tools and specialized equipment including vehicle assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of high school education. Technical diploma either from a Technical College/Trade School or through an accepted national apprenticeship programme. A degree an asset. Recognized and valid National Generator Mechanics License.
• Relevant working experiences: A minimum of 5 years practical experience in installation, repair and servicing of generators in a private, commercial, or military environment. Proven and continuous performance record, supported by references from previous and current employer is required. Familiarity with generator wirings, troubleshooting and control wiring.
• Necessary skills: Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and cope with deadlines. Proficiency in the handling power tools and test equipment. Demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given. A complete and in-depth understanding of generator systems, diesel engines and maintenance problems encountered in power generating systems. Ability to travel to various locations, in the Area of Operations to carry out generator installations and repairs. Valid national driving license is essential.
• Languages: Basic knowledge of spoken and written English, and Fluency in Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

Administration of New Recruits:
• Confirm entry on duty date with selected candidates.
• Request for Index No.
• Verify authenticity of academic certificates, birth certificates (self, dependent spouse and children), marriage, and employment certificates.
• Ensure new recruits undergo the “Basic Security in the Field” programmes, Check-In process, and are issued with UN ID cards.
• Download the data into FPMS and update the FPMS fields not compatible with the Check-In database.
• Raise initial Personnel Action (P.5) and LOA ensuring that family allowance is granted to those eligible new recruits and that participation to UN Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is indicated in the initial P.5 for those with initial appointment of six months or more.
• Ensure that new recruits sign original LOA and copy LOA, issue them with original LOA and file copy LOA with original signature and copy of P.5, distribute P.5s as set out at the footer of P.5 form.
• Brief the new recruits on their entitlements within the 300 series Staff Rules, issue them with a copy of the National Staff Briefing Notes and a copy of the Staff Rules.
• Introduce them personally to the Section Chief concerned and arrange with Training Section for their Mission Induction course.

Administration of Staff Members (SM):
• Review and process requests for entitlements and claims; check the authenticity of all the claims (especially medical claims) before forwarding to the Certifying Officer for signature.
• Assist in the review and processing of data pertaining to conditions of service.
• Coordinate with Attendance Unit; raise P.5 in connection with special leave without pay, special leave with full pay, and maternity leave. For Regional Offices, ensure the Monthly Attendance Sheets submitted by the Sections are duly signed with necessary attachments, before forwarding them to Attendance Unit.
• For separating staff members, process the Personnel Payroll clearance on receipt of completed Check-Out form, exit questionnaire, ePAS, and audited leave records from Attendance Unit for submission to Finance Section for final pay.

Extension of Appointments:
• Monitor and prepare monthly report of SM’s contractual status.
• Follow-up on ePAS registration and ensure that any ePAS problems reported by SM are relayed to the Sections’ ePAS Focal Point for solutions.
• Monitor medical classifications and periods of clearance thereof and ensure that those cleared for short periods undergo Periodic Medical Examinations prior to extension of their appointments.
• Prepare and submit request for extension or appointment memoranda to Section Chiefs at least six weeks prior to the expiry of appointments.
• Upon the receipt of the recommendation for extension of appointments as well as status of ePAS or Special Reports from Section Chiefs, initiate the extension of appointments.

General
• Provide general office support services; draft and process a variety of correspondence and other communications.
• Set up and maintain reference files and records (electronic and paper).
• Undertake research on a range of Human Resources related issues and assist in the preparation of notes and reports.
• Maintain automated database containing Human Resources related statistics and prepare periodic reports.
• Assist in preparation of necessary documentation for distribution to various offices, departments and overseas offices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.


Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: High School Diploma complemented by coursework or training in human resources management. A degree in Management or Human Resources is an asset.
• Relevant working experience: A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years in the field of administration, human resources management or other related fields. Previous experience with UN/NGO is an asset.
• Necessary skills: Very good computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Human Resources databases. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Good sense of confidentiality, impartiality and ability to work under pressure.

• Relevant working experiences: A minimum of 5 years practical experience in installation, repair and service in refrigeration systems, compressors and complete refrigeration systems in a private, commercial and military environment. Proven and continuous performance record, supported by references and current employer is required.
• Necessary skills: Ability to produce high quality work under pressure and cope with Drivers Permit/License for light or medium forklift desirable. Knowledge of electrical installation would be an asset.
• Languages: Basic knowledge of spoken and written English, and Fluency in Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

• Assists various UNAMID offices/Sections/Units in transferring their files to the Records Management, Registry and Mail & Pouch Unit for archiving purposes.
• Assists unit in the implementation of electronic records management system throughout UNAMID.
• Provides training and assistance to the archives users in file classification and reference
• Files deposited records in standard archive boxes per UNAMID records management standards, and store in records centre.
• Performs other unit-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of High School education. A University degree an asset. Specialized training in office management/library, archives or records management techniques and systems, and technical and communications skills
• Relevant working experience: At least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative/ office management functions and in using filing plans, working in records centers or registries, and in automated records management systems. Knowledge electronic and hard copy filing systems used in the UN an Asset.
• Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic with excellent communication and drafting skills.

• Relevant working experience: A minimum six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in telecommunications and related fields. A valid driver’s license is essential. Knowledge of Microsoft NT, TCP/IP and other network protocols, design of LAN/WAN with CISCO equipment, setup of Internet/Intranet. Knowledge and experience of voice and data integration projects. Knowledge of UN standard equipment for voice, data and video. (Ericsson PABX, CISCO routers/concentrators, Tandberg Videoconferencing, etc.) is an advantage. Experience in customer support for Wide Area Networks desirable.
• Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic with excellent communication and drafting skills.

Within limits of delegated authority and under the supervision of the Senior Legal Affairs Officer, the Legal Officer will be responsible for the following functions:

● Perform legal research and legal analysis on issues of relevance to the UNAMID mandate.

analytical work. In-depth academic background and practical work
experience in the areas of governance and constitutional issues.
● Language: Fluency in written and spoken English. Skills in English must be
of a level sufficient to enable the incumbent to draft legal texts clearly and
precisely. Knowledge of Arabic is a strong asset.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Maintain log of all mail pieces received from couriers intended for mail and pouch unit.
• Count the number of pieces received, record the quantity in each category, e.g. registered, certified, mail from missions, personal, confidential or other.
• Responsible for the receipt of mail from courier agents, goverment an d foreign missions.
• Deliver packages weigh 35 lbs or lesser.
• Assist in coding, sorting, processing and looking-up address, where insufficient.
• Compare incoming log sheet against the number of purchases or packages received from couriers, contractors and the government postal services.
• Assist unloading containers; assist in x-ray, presort and deliver mail to specified units or concerned officials.
• Process all outgoing official correspondence, publications and information materials.
• Weigh the mail in order to determine the postage and to frank accordingly.
• Track the distribution of all mail, as well as the pouch service.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of High School education.
• Relevant working experience: At least three (3) years of experience in administrative and office support functions. Experience in mail handling, pouch and registry operations would be an asset
• Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic with excellent communication and drafting skills.
• Other requirements: candidate in possession of Sudanese Driver’s licence

• Perform skills level masonry and bricklaying works required in the maintenance of residential and office buildings. The work includes the rendering of walls, floors and slabs/beams. The alteration, renovation and repair of brick and concrete works at all facilities in accordance with standard practices.
• Repair concrete and masonry.
• Prepare formwork for all new concrete works; undertake final finishing work on all concrete slabs in accordance with the specification.
• Lay brick and block as required on small construction tasks.
• Repair cracks in masonry and undertake underpinning tasks as required to prevent collapse of weakened masonry walls.

Qualifications and Experience:

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Monitor materials, tools, equipments, supplies, vehicles and other assets within the engineering section both in the headquarters and fields; and ensure it is in compliance with the DPKO Assets Management procedures.
• Initiate and conduct the inspection of engineering material, equipment and other assets delivered by contractors and shippers.
• Verify and initiate receiving and inspection reports including details of discrepancies if applicable.
• Oversee, manage, record, and track engineering materials, equipments and other assets issued to projects and contingents from the engineering warehouses and other stock holdings.
• Initiate write-off action documentation for signature and approval of supervisor (s) as and when damaged material or asset is discovered including from wear and tear; and it is in a status of ‘beyond economical repair’.
• Verify the accuracy of the data recorded; update the same in the Mission Assets Control System/database (Galileo Database or others).
• Prepare the Engineering Section: year-end inventory, financial year-end inventory and monthly inventory reports of non-expendable Engineering Section assets for review & approval of Chief Engineer.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: High school diploma or equivalent technical or vocational certificate in an engineering or architecture discipline or in computer science.
• Relevant working experiences: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of construction or engineering equipment, material inventory control or construction scheduling, or quantity surveying. Experience within engineering/logistics of international peacekeeping or military operations is considered to be an asset.
• Necessary skills: Proficient in database software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to learn and operate database software programs introduced in the mission from time to time. Possess national Driver’s License for light and medium vehicles.
• Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (UNAMID) and the direct supervision of the Director of Level II Hospital, El Fasher, the Electro Medical Technician carry out the following tasks:

● Apply theories and techniques of hospital and electro – medical engineering by managing, maintaining and repairing dental, laboratory, theatre and other hospital equipment of the UNAMID Level II Hospital;
● In collaboration with the Pharmacist In Charge UNAMID Level II
Hospital store, keep record of stocks and account for all dental, radiological, laboratory and theatre machines/equipment and other related equipment according to recommended guidelines;
● Ensure the installation and efficient performance of newly acquired
hospital equipment in the UNAMID Level II Hospital and other UNAMID affiliated hospitals;
● Ensure the routine maintenance and repairing of dental, laboratory,
radiological and other hospital equipment/machines in order to ensure their efficient performance in the UNAMID Level II Hospital and other UNAMID affiliated hospitals;
● Assist the pharmacist UNAMID level II Hospital in the requisition of
spare or replacement parts for faulty hospital equipments/machines and other matters related to hospital/electro – medical engineering;
● Carry out relevant and regular reporting as required for proper
management of all hospital equipment of UNAMID Level II Hospital;
● Assist in the organisation of continuous training on hospital
equipment/machines and other related matters to related medical personnel of the UNAMID Level II Hospital and other UNAMID affiliated hospitals;
● Carry out other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Chief Medical
Officer, UNAMID and the Director Level II Hospital, UNAMID.
● You shall not communicate to anyone whatsoever or use to your advantage any information, documents, facts and communication which shall come to your knowledge in the course of this appointment, except with the permission of the Chief Medical Officer, UNAMID.

Qualifications and Experience:

● Education: Registered Professional who is a graduate with an accredited Degree or Diploma Programme (4 years) or Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate in hospital engineering or electro- medical engineering from an accredited tertiary institution.
● Training & Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in electro-medical engineering and logistics management. Knowledge and understanding of relevant UN administrative policies and procedures is desirable. Previous experiences from UN missions or any UN agency are an asset.
● Languages: Excellent command of oral of and written English and Arabic,
Sudanese regional dialects an advantage.

equipment/machines.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Background: Doctorate in Medicine. Residency in one of the medical specialties, preferably internal medicine.
• Relevant working experience: At least 4 years of progressive clinical experience in the medical field. Experience in emergency Medicine is an asset.
• Language: Fluency in both written and oral English as well as Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.
• Other skills: Training in military medical planning and tropical diseases is highly desirable.

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Unload and sort incoming mail, interoffice correspondence, cables, documents and packages
• Deliver and pick-up mail, pouches and other communication from and to the post office, government agencies and other institutions
• Sort, deliver and pick up mail from various offices on the premises in accordance to the daily schedule.
• Pack material received for dispatch, affixes labels, insert material in envelopes and frank outgoing mail
• Ensure that mail is clearly and correctly addressed
• Alert supervisor on receipt of tampered mail
• Ensure that outgoing mail contains only approved material
• Operate photocopying machines
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of High School education.
• Relevant working experience: At least two years of experience in administrative and office support functions.
• Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic with excellent communication and drafting skills.
• Other requirements: candidate in possession of Sudan Driver’s license

Duties and responsibilities:

Cargo related activities:

• Completes the manual and paperwork tasks associate with handling freight, Loading and unloading of aircraft/vehicles and the associated cargo preparation in the Movcon areas;
• Identifies dangerous cargo requirements and assist where tasked in the completion of dangerous good declarations;
• Prepares cargo for movement on pallets or in containers, with care to load distribution, load points, accurate weights, binding and securing by road, rail, air or river;
• Researching as need be, dangerous cargo documents for correct handling procedures;
• Assists in preparation of Cargo Flight/vehicle manifest during cargo preparation;
• As a trained and knowledge operator of MHE and associated airfield equipment, complete cargo movement within the detachment location, to and from planes/vehicles, and in support of other Movcon operations;
Passenger related activities:
• Assists in the check-in of passenger travelling on UNAMID aircraft to include manifest confirmation/amendment, baggage identification and weighing, distribution of boarding passes and passenger briefing;
• Fulfil the duties of a passenger baggage handler by retrieving or placing passenger baggage on aircraft, assist in the transfer of baggage to the terminal area, and follow-up on miss place or damage of baggage;
• Assists with the boarding and deplaning of passengers, while remaining aware of safety procedures standard with respect to aircraft refuelling, use of cell phones and approaching aircraft;
• As a conscience observer assist with airfield and air terminal security by ensuring that all passenger baggage or property scanned and accounted for at time of check-in, the air passenger remain in designed area while at the air terminal and all incidents or potential safety or security matters are reported in a timely manner;
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Backgrounds: Completion of high school education.
• Relevant working experiences: A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in the movement control services, including at least 2 years in the field of national and field contracts and execution of Logistics services.
• Candidate must be in possession of a valid driver’s license category “F” (Capable of driving a medium bus).
• Languages: Must be able to communicate clearly in oral and written English;

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Perform the duties specific to Units assigned, such as Guard Force Management, Tracking Unit, Policy and Plans Unit, Special Investigations Unit, Security Support Unit, Security Information & Operations Center (SIOC) and Field Operations as per the requirements of the Security Section.
• Prepare daily, weekly and/or monthly reports as required by the respective Unit.
• Prepare weekly/monthly duty roster for national security personnel under his/her command.
• Supervise all national security personnel under his/her command in the respective Sector.
• Conduct reviews/assessments and make recommendations to the Unit supervisor for the enhancement of the respective unit.
• Conduct training of staff under his/her command when required and approved by the respective Unit supervisor.
• Familiarize with the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and guidelines of respective unit.
• Develop and maintains liaison with the relevant Sections, National Authorities, INGO/NGO’s and other UN Agencies in the performance of his/her respective Unit’s functions.
• Coordinate leave and monitor attendance of all national staff under his/her command.
• Assist the operations of the specific unit assigned to specifically training, operations and security support units.
• Ensure all equipments issued to the security section/assigned is operable and in a state of preparedness when required.
• During periods of heightened security, the National Security Officers will assume specific responsibilities and control of specific areas as determined and instructed by their respective supervisors and or the Section Chief.
• Provide inputs for the performance evaluation of the shift supervisors, and security guards.
• Supervise, counsel, coach and mentor all national security personnel under his/her command. Prepare written reports of unusual incidents.
• Brief the respective Unit supervisor of any security related information with regards to that Unit.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Background: Completion of high school education combined with Police or Military training preferably at the senior level. Training in self defense and a diploma/degree in a security related field will be an added advantage.
• Relevant working experience: At least 8 years of active security related experience in a Police or Military service. Prior UN Security or Embassy security experience is an asset.
• Necessary skills: Mental and physical fitness. Ability to perform duties uniform and at times in civilian clothes. Ability to manage, train and develop a team; and capable to prepare reports as required.
• Language: Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English; and Fluency in Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

Qualifications and Experience:

● Education: Advanced university degree (Bachelor Degree) preferably in Law, Political or Social Science, Gender Studies, International Studies, Public Administration, Economics, or other relevant field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area.
● Training & Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressively
responsible professional experience in gender affairs, human rights,
Training, humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crises/emergency relief management, rehabilitation and development, or other related area, of which at least 3 years should be in the field preferably in humanitarian emergency efforts.
● Languages: Excellent command of oral of and written English and
Arabic, Sudanese regional dialects an advantage.

• Prepare daily statistical report of nursing activities;
• Assess patients’ health problems by taking brief medical history, taking vital signs, temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure;
• Evaluate and plan patients care visiting the “walk-in” clinic; order routine laboratory test (e.g., urinalysis, hemoglobin, vision tests); provide care/advice accordingly or facilitate referral to the United Nations Medical Officer or to an outside physicians, as indicted;
• Ensure preparedness of staff traveling on mission or re-assignment, including administration of appropriate vaccines for international travel as well as instructions on other travel-related ailments and on the content and potential uses of the “Travel Kit”.
• Respond to emergency calls according to established medical emergency protocol, and assist the Medical Officer in providing adequate care when necessary; ensure effective liaison between patient and private doctor, paramedics, family members, colleagues as appropriate; and document case findings;
• Perform ECG, x-ray and other medical exams such as blood tests, glucose, cholesterol and urine exams as required.
• Perform electrocardiograms, if required and answer telephone medical inquiries.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experiences:

• Academic Backgrounds: Registered Professional Nurse with at least a BSc Degree /Diploma from a recognized School of Nursing. Special training in emergency medicine and certificates in ECG and CPR or Basic Life Support is an asset.
• Relevant working experiences: Minimum of 8 years of responsible experience in the application of nursing skills.
• Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English as well as Arabic. Knowledge of other languages spoken in the region applied is an asset.

Competencies:
• Professionalism: “Hands on” experience in clinical nursing. Considerable knowledge and skill in emergency medicine is a requirement.
• Planning & organizing: ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor own work.
• Teamwork: strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
• Communication: good interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
• Technological awareness: solid computer skills and good knowledge of relevant clinical instruments and new developed facilities.

Duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Section Chief or his/her designate, the incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following functions:

• Receive and screen all correspondence and other documents addressed to the Head of Section/Unit.
• Draft/respond to correspondence and e-mails; Review/Edit outgoing correspondence to ensure accuracy and completeness of information and institute follow up action. Make photocopies as necessary.
• Maintain a calendar of appointments of the Head of Section/Unit Chief’s appointments, including official visits within and outside the mission area.
• Act as leave monitor and maintain attendance records for the section/Unit. To this end, monitor movement of the section’s personnel in and outside the mission area by ensuring that Movement of Personnel Forms (MOPS) are completed and signed prior to departure.
• Prepare and monitor the section’s leave plans to ensure continuous smooth work flow while other staff members are on leave, especially during holidays periods;
• Consolidate monthly requests for office supplies for the section;
• Establish and maintain a proper filing system.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Academic Background: Completion of High School Education with diploma/certificate in Business Administration or Management an asset .
• Relevant working experience: Four (4) years experience in Administration field with UN/NGO or any other international bodies.
• Language: Fluency in both written and oral English as well as Arabic. Knowledge of regional dialects an asset.

Competencies:

• Professionalism: Ability to manage processes, maintain accurate records, in administrative fields.
• Teamwork: Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with supervisors and colleagues
• Communication: Ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to communicate effectively orally.
• Planning and Organizing: Ability to plan and organize own work effectively in an efficient and timely manner.
• Commitment to Continuous Learning: Initiative and willingness to keep abreast of new developments in the administrative fields
• Technological awareness: Ability to operate a computer with MS Word, Excel Power Point and Access and Data bases. Ability to type in English and Arabic.
